The 2022 Golden Globe Awards went down last night, albeit in the most bizarre presentation since their inception.
Last year, there was a huge Hollywood boycott of the awards, after it was revealed that the voting body-the Hollywood Foreign Press-did not have black representatives. So much was the flack against the Golden Globes, that Tom Cruise went as far as returning his 3 awards and NBC pulling out and choosing not to air this year’s ceremony.
Following that sequence of events, last night’s ceremony was not televised, there was no red carpet and no attendees either. The Hollywood Foreign Press still went ahead and announced the winners on its website.
