One of the world’s most venomous snakes was found hiding behind a family’s toaster.
A family in Australia called in the help of Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 after finding out turned out to be an eastern brown on their kitchen counter.
Posting about the call-out on Facebook, catcher Stuart McKenzie wrote: “He was pretty comfortable up there curled up and minding his own business.”
Although Stuart admitted the snake almost got caught “in the toaster cord”, he was able to be removed unharmed. He added: “He nearly got tangled in the toaster cord but I was able to bag him up safely.”
According to reports, the Eastern Brown Snake can cope and even thrive in areas of human disturbance, and its natural range includes Australia’s most populated areas, it’s probably encountered more than any other type of snake.
