A woman is to marry the love of her life – an aeroplane.
Michele Kobke, from Berlin, has been in a “physical” relationship with the Boeing 737-800 aircraft for the past six years and now intends to tie the knot with the plane, whom she has lovingly named Schatz, which is German for darling.
According to LadBible, “Michele is planning to tie the knot with the Boeing 737-800 at a ceremony in the Netherlands later this year. She claims it was love at first sight for the 30-year-old and her soon-to-be husband, who ‘met’ at Berlin Tegel airport back in 2014.”
Michele said: “I want to marry him in the hangar and spend the whole night with him.
“I wouldn’t want to put on a white dress, but dress really smartly with black trousers and a black blazer.”
The 30-year-old admits she can’t wait for her big day, with the pair getting hitched on March 18.
She said: “I want to have someone marry us and say, ‘Do you want to marry your 737-800’ and I say, ‘Yes’, we kiss and then I’m immortalized with him and we can be together forever.”
Michele has been aware of her intense love for the plane since she took her first flight, in November 2013. Explaining her love, she said: “When I touch his wings, I get immediately sweaty palms and get excited.”
Despite not everyone being able to understand or accept their relationship, Michele doesn’t think there is anything wrong with it, claiming they are just like anyone else. Michele – who says gets “sweaty palms” when she touches the plane – insists that their relationship is “normal”.
She said: “It’s like a normal relationship. We have relaxing evenings together and when we go to bed, we cuddle and fall asleep together.”
