Lovers of space can now sleep peacefully knowing that there might be a prospective space hotel in the works scheduled to open in the next 6 years.
Space construction company The Gateway Foundation shared a rendered sneak peek video with designs of what guests could expect from the hotel, and it’s pretty impressive. The plans for the hotel were first released back in 2019.
According to CNN Travel, the hotel, which has been named ‘The Voyager Station’, is to be built by Orbital Assembly Corporation, a new construction company run by a former pilot named John Blincow, who also heads up the Gateway Foundation. Construction on the space hotel is set to begin in 2026, and a holiday in space could be a reality by 2027.
The Voyager Station will have all the basic amenities of a normal Earth hotel such as a gym, restaurants, deluxe bedrooms, and even spaces where guests could enjoy live events such as sports and concerts, but with spectacular out-of-this world views.
Guests will also be able to have a chance to try traditional “space food” such as freeze-dried ice cream which will be an item on the restaurant’s menu.
Details on the cost of thespace cruise’ have not yet been told but as one can imagine, it can’t be anything less than a hefty amount.
