A dog has been seen waiting outside a classroom every day for his teacher friend who recently died.
Video footage has been released which shows the grey Aspin named Buboy sitting outside the University college classroom in Mabalacat City College in Pampanga, vainly waiting to be met by Professor Carmelito Marcelo.
According to reports, the professor and the stray dog became friends more than two years ago.
The dog would routinely come over to his classroom for food in the morning and then return at lunchtime for snacks. According to the Mirror, “Buboy then would stay around the campus and patrol the buildings at night.” Well known within the student community and a friend to Professor Carmelito, Buboy quickly integrated into the community.
Sadly Carmelito stopped coming to school when he suffered a fatal stroke earlier this month. However, the faithful dog continued to come to his class even after his death oblivious to the fate that befell his good friend.
The faithfulness of Buboy has moved Carmelito’s students and they took the dog to the church when the teacher’s body is now being held.
The report also pointed out that since the sudden demise of Professor Carmelito, “everybody has taken to help with the feeding of Buboy. The staff, students and teachers are all providing food for him.”
Speaking about the welfare of Buboy, a student said “It’s hard to watch the dog waiting for his friend. He doesn’t know that his special companion has gone.”
Staff at the Mabalacat City College said they have now planned to help arrange Buboy a new home.
