If you’re a pet owner it’s likely you’re losing a daily battle trying to get rid of pet hair all over your floors and furniture.
We love our pets – but definitely don’t love the hair they shed all over the house and it can be a real challenge to get rid of it and keep the house clean.
That’s why we’ve compiled our favorite hacks and helpful hints for cleaning up cat and dog fur.
Groom your pets regularly
Owning a pet comes with some not-so-fun responsibilities like grooming. You can’t stop cats and dogs from shedding hair, but you can reduce the amount they lose by grooming them regularly. You can make brushing a daily routine and chances are your pet will love the attention and do wonders to prevent pet hair everywhere. An appointment with a professional pet groomer every four to six weeks is also a good idea.
Rubber gloves
Rubber gloves are great at getting rid of pet hair. All you do is pop on the gloves, wet them, and wipe them over surfaces like sofas or any fabric, and that allows the hair to ball up. You can also use pet grooming gloves. They are a brilliant pet hair removal tool for getting into the nooks and crannies.
Lint Roller
You might already have a lint roller for your clothes but it’s also a tool that makes removing pet hair a lot easier. Irrespective of the length of your pet’s hair, the lint roller will remove it from your clothes as well as furniture.
Vacuum
Using a vacuum cleaner is one of the easiest ways to clean up pet hair around your house. There are plenty of special vacuums these days on the market, but whether you have one of those or a standard vacuum cleaner, be sure to clean it regularly because pet hair can clog it. When you are running your vacuum on furniture and carpets, give it enough time so that it can suck all the hair properly.
We hope these tricks will help if you’re looking to regain your couch, clothes or anything in between. The real trick is maintenance so that it never gets too out of control.
