WATCH: The first female Mavericks DJ Poizon Ivy talks about her career and why she is all about Kenyan music

DJ Poizon Ivy caught up with The Sauce at the Patoranking album listening party to talk about her career and why she is all about play Kenyan music.

Ivy Owino popularly known as Dj Poizon Ivy is the first female disc jockey for the Dallas Mavericks Basketball team in the US and she has managed to make a career out of two things that she loves, music and sports.

Poizon Ivy revealed that her stage name came from the fictional character Poizon Ivy who appears on DC Comics in association with the Superhero Batman. Ivy who is a former Basketballer also intimated that she started working for the Basketball team when she was young and she has risen through the ranks to become the first female deejay for the team.

The disc jockey is known for representing Kenya on the Basketball court when the Mavericks are playing also said that she is always playing Kenyan music because she is proudly Kenyan and because Kenyan artists like Nyanshinki, King Kaka and Ethic are putting out good music that we all ought to be proud of.

The mother of one spoke about her daughter and what legacy she would like to leave for her. The US-based DJ also touched on as well her upcoming plans for her album which may feature her friend and top Kenyan artist Victoria Kimani.
