Ringtone is not mincing his words when it comes to Willy Paul’s arrogance.
Gospel musician Ringtone took it upon himself to call out ‘Njiwa’ singer Willy Paul posting a long rant on his social media account. Alex Apoko widely known to many as Ringtone previously made headlines for creating a fake letter from the Karen Residential Association complaining about him rearing cattle in a residential area as reported by The Sauce. The Kenyan gospel singer is always on the news for all the wrong reasons and this time is no different. The ‘Wacha Iwe’ singer tore down Willy for his arrogance, saying ” We know you, you are Willy possessed, Willy Pozze…with the level of arrogance you exhibit in your interviews, you are not Godly.”
Ringtone hits out at the ‘I Do’ crooner for his Muslim name Wilson Abubakar Radido, questioning if he is indeed Christian. Tone ranted, “Mr. Abubakar. Abubakar, the first companion of the prophet Mohammed. We are not in the same Spirit. You’ve been here purporting to be a prophet of the Almighty God, the Alpha and Omega…you are not! We’ve discovered you, you are the evil spirit.”
Ringtone goes on to rebuke Willy Pooze for collaborating with some of Tanzania’s best artists from Wasafi Records. Tone mentions his top collabs with Rayvanny in the recent release ‘Mmh,’ as well as Harmonize on the 2018 track ‘Pilipili.’ With an authoritative tone to his voice and a deranged look, Ringtone seems disturbed. His emotional rant indicates that the ‘Wanadamu’ crooner might have some serious issues bubbling beneath the surface.
Reacting to Ringtone’s rebukes commented “Hello Marijuana Possessed Ringtone? Seek salivation and shun drugs. rose Muhando spirits that were cast out by Pastor Ng’ang’a entered you! Umepotea kabisa bro.” Another noted Ringtone’s deranged state and wrote, “Are you going through depression and Willy Paul is just a scapegoat ? pls, let us help him first.” Some who saw Apoko’s comments reminded the singer that he should look at the log in his eye before looking for the log in another’s. The comment read, “Do not judge others and so God will not judge you my bro ringtone.”
Ringtone is among many who have cautioned that Willy Pooze should no longer brand himself as a Gospel artist. Titering on the fence between gospel and secular, Pooze has collaborated with the likes of Jamaican songbird Alaine, Cecile as well as a slew of Tanzanian acts including the African Princess Nandy. His most recent release ‘Turn Around’ is a slow and sexy riddim release has been widely received but continues to cast doubt on whether the Mathare-born rapper can still be termed as a ‘Gospel’ musician.
Willy Paul is yet to respond to Ringtone’s rebuke.
