Incarcerated Jamaican musician Vybz Kartel and Montego Bay-based Dancehall artist Squash have come through with a new music video, ‘Beat Dem Bad’.
The Gaza nation leader teased the new track last month, and finally, the dancehall banger is here with an accompanied visual. ‘Beat Dem Bad’marks the second time this year that Vybz Kartel and Squash drop off a collaboration. Earlier this year, they released the single ‘Can’t Be The Same’.
The Wikid Media-directed cut saw the Mobay deejay putting on his expensive designer gears and his jewelry to hit the street with his ladies. “Dark shades and me white Ts / Pick up me car keys / Cuban link and me Nike / When the girls them see me them say we white eeen,”sings Squash.
According to Urban Islandz, Vybz Kartel appeal is back on the forefront. The 43-year-old and his co-convicts have been waiting on a judgment for almost a year. The case was presented before the courts in July last year. Kartel’s attorney, Valerie Neita-Robertson, says that she plans to inquire with the court about the case, but still knows that ultimately we have to wait whatever time the court deems fit to review the case thoroughly.
Popular dancehall crooner Adidja Palmer has been in jail since 2014 but that has not stopped him from releasing songs. He released over 50 new songs in 2016 alone and a week ago, he released another collabo with dancehall queen Spice titled ‘Back Way’. The two worked on other popular songs like ‘Romping Shop’ and ‘Conjugal Visit’. Other 2019 releases include, ‘In Stock’, ‘Come Home’ and ‘Any Weather’ just to name a few.
