The father to Tanzanian hitmaker Diamond Platnumz, Abdul Juma, has made an unprecedented move to venture into music.
Naseeb Abdul alias Diamond might have very well got his music gift from his father who has surprised many by releasing his first song.
Mzee Juma who has given himself the stage name Baba Diamond aka Big Lion aka Mzee Mondi aka Babu Tiffah collaborated with upcoming Tanzanian artistes Sungura Madini, Promis Nyota and Blod Gaz in a new song titled ‘Mwewe’.
The new jam was released on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, has over 20,000 views on YouTube and counting.
News about Mr. Juma’s plunge into music has attracted mixed reactions online, with those approving of his newly found activity saying so long as it would financially benefit the old man, they would support him.
It remains unclear what pushed Mr. Juma to try his hand at music, though a section of online users speculate that the alleged neglect by his superstar son could have left him with no choice, but to try his luck in the extremely competitive industry.
His superstar children Diamond and Queen Darleen, as well as the mother of his children Sandra who are currently in Muscat, Oman for Wasafi, Festival 2019, have yet to comment on Mzee Juma’s new journey into music.
