VOICES was proud to host the launch event for their 2020-2021 curriculum. The VOICES curriculum is a series of free professional development activities designed to support women from diverse backgrounds in the early years of their careers.
Over the course of multiple months, young women from around the world will have the opportunity to network, learn, and collaborate through participation in online workshops and an accompanying online community. The workshops in the winter 2020-2021 curriculum will address soft skills development in areas ranging from entrepreneurship and public speaking to mental health. These workshops will be hosted in collaboration with a range of external speakers and partner organizations from across the globe.
“The training sessions which form part of the VOICES curriculum are about investing time in soft skills development, building confidence and resilience, facilitating networking, and supporting women,” says VOICES Partnerships Coordinator Elisa Roth.
VOICES is an initiative of the World Economic Forum Global Shaper Hubs with Offices in Cambridge, UK and Dublin. Since our founding in 2018, this women’s empowerment platform has worked internationally to improve women’s representation on panels and to support the professional development of early-career women through workshops, competitions, and networking events.
“The launch of the VOICES curriculum represents the next step in the evolution of our work”, says VOICES founder Zsofia Szlamka. “While in previous years, VOICES has focused on in-person workshops hosted in local communities, COVID-19 has challenged us to move online and to grow our global reach. Since transitioning its work online in March, VOICES has been lucky to lead panel workshops that have trained participants in more than 25 countries. With the transition from individual workshops to a multi-session curriculum, we hope to continue to grow our reach and to develop sustained, enriching working connections with early-career women from around the world.”
