Wahu Kagwi is back, bigger and better.
The “Sweet Love” songbird debuted a new track dubbed “My Everything.” The gospel track is a new direction for Wahu who has been a secular singer since her first release in 2000. The track “My Everything” is an emotional tribute to God’s goodness. Writing from experience, Wahu reveals details of her struggles while her husband award-winning artist Nameless fell ill in the latter part of 2017. The track that is inspired by a true story follows “Sifa” which was released in November 2017. Wahu’s decision to rededicate herself to Christ continues to be evident in her music. As she explores this new genre, Wahu can only get better with every new release.
Willy Paul, on the other hand, seems to have branched out.
Diversifying his sound, Willy Paul has teamed up with Tanzanian Bongo star Harmonize. In the track “Pilipili” that chronicles the usual relationship drama, it seems that Willy Paul may have ventured out of the bounds of contemporary gospel music. We can only speculate whether the track is an indication of a deliberate career move yet to come. This track does not come as a shock as Willy Paul is known to push boundaries for the sake of artistic expression. His last release “Tempted” also elicited mixed reviews from fans.
