Kenyan afrobeat princess Victoria Kimani made quite the impression over the weekend in the Big Apple. The Kenyan singer- songwriter was part of the African acts visiting New York City for the epic concert One Africa Music Fest.
The show included a line up largerly made up of West African artists including Davido, Tiwa Savage, Tekno, 2FaceIdibia, PSquare and South African Hip Hop legend Cassper Nyovest. Victoria Kimani and Ali Kiba were the only East African acts included in the festival, which has many questioning whether Sauti Sol and Diamond Platinumz were snubbed for the event.
The One Africa Music Fest has expanded with shows in Houston Texas as well as London, England. The 2017 edition has full of energetic performances with even a guest performance by Wale. According to The Vibe, ” Victoria Kimani is definitely a star with a bright future.” Performing some of her biggest hits “Show” and “March along” Kimani had the audience in a trance. She kept the Kenyan flag waving high throughout the set, and did not shy away from sharing her excitement on being part of the event.

Alikiba, Tanzania Bongo Flava star was also part of the line up. However, it seems that the recent trip to the Land of Oppurtunity may have driven an even bigger wedge between Ali Kiba and rival Bongo artist Diamond Plaitnumz. In a tweet that went out of Kiba’s account, it seems the heartbeaker is not afraid to speak his mind on the rivalry. Needless to say, the tweet put his followers in a frenzy on Twitter. With Platinumz throwing the first jab in his latest track “Fresh,” fans await a diss track from King Kiba.
