The University of Nairobi has jumped 13 places to be ranked the 14th best university in Africa, from last year’s 27th position. UoN retains its top position in Kenya, according to the latest study by Spanish research firm Webometrics. The University also improved its rating from last year’s 2,452 ranking to 1,700 globally.
Webometrics ranks universities according to the amount and quality of online academic research and scholarly activity of 20,300 universities.
Strathmore University trails UoN at position 43 in Africa as Kenyatta University is close behind at position 45. Egerton University, African Virtual University and JKUAT are the other Kenyan Universities featured in the top 100 in Africa.
