Kenyan reggae fans are eagerly awaiting the return of Jamaican crooner Chris Martin this December to shut things down.
The news of his return for a major concert broke two weeks ago with the Weekend Love hitmaker confirming the visit later on in a video.
The 32-year-old is currently in New York, USA doing shows and according to Nairobi News, he has a message for Kenyan ladies.
“Yes, I will be there on the 7th December as announced. I am returning with so much love and hope to receive some love from my Kenyan fans. Let’s make the weekend a loving weekend hoping to see all my Kenyan ladies,” the father of three said.
Martin released his new album titled ‘And Then’ in March 2019 which is being considered for the 2020 Grammys. He recently posted on Instagram in Swahili that he was ready for the concert and asked fans if they were ready too.
This will be Martin’s second visit to Kenya with his last being eight years ago. During that first visit in March 2011, he performed at the Carnivore grounds. On that visit, he was accompanied by his girlfriend at the time dancehall superstar Byad Gal Cecile.
The two dated secretly for four and a half years before splitting. At the time of their breakup, they had been blessed by a daughter.
The event organizers who brought Lovers rock singer Jah Cure earlier this year announced that Umoja Splash Festival is set for 7th December 2019 at the KICC grounds.
