A twitter fancast could be well on its way to materializing, thanks to an unearthed photo of the late disco legend Donna Summer.
A few days ago, a resurfaced photo of the Disco legend who ran supreme in the 70s and 80s made its way to twitter and users went on a meltdown citing the resemblance between the Love to You Baby smash-hit maker to yet another music superstar, Kelly Rowland.
Music critic Crag Seiymour shared a 1979 photo of Summer, and fans immediately went into a frenzy at the uncanny resemblance of the iconic musician to Kelly Rowland. A side to side depiction of the two rocking similar bangs further cemented the comparison: High cheekbones, bone structure and pretty much every aspect of their ace.
Fans are now rallying for Kelly Rowland to be cast in a starring role in a Donna Summer prospective biopic, with some going as far as to say an Oscar should well in waiting for the Motivation hit singer. In 2019, Rowland paid homage to Summer by dressing as her for the year’s Halloween. The ensemble entailed a white body suit with a matching fur jacket and curly hair to boot – one of the Disco queen’s most unforgettable looks.
So, while it may not yet official that Rowland will portray Summer just yet, odds are high that there is no one else as befitting of the role. After all, she is not stranger to the screen, having played Kia in 2003’s Freddy Vs Jason, and with roles in major movies like The Seat Filler, American Dreams to name but three. She has also been a high-earning judge on The X-Factor and The Voice reality singing shows.
