Coming soon to a theatre near you, Hip Hop great Tupac SHakur’s biopic is set to hit theatres.
The movie titled “All eyes on me” based on one of his bestselling albums under the same name is set to be released in November 2016. This will be among recent movies that depict the lives of some of Hip Hop’s greatest rappers. The movie highlights the highs and lows of his life including moments on stage and somber moments with his mother Afeni Shakur. The film also underlined the struggles of the black man bringing to the forefront issues of gang violence, unemployment and poverty. The movie’s lead actor Demetrius Shipp, Jr. is a spitting image of Tupac and has already stirred a lot of excitement ahead of the movie’s release.
Tupac Shakur has sold over 75 million records worldwide and is considered among the Kings of Hip Hop. Beginning his career as a MC to the alternative hip hop group Digital Underground, Tupac soon branched out to pursue his solo career. With the money and fame came violence where he got involved in the East Coast- West Coast rivalry. There was especially strong enmity between Tupac and East Coast rapper Notorious B.I.G. Tupac was shot on September 7th 1996, after a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas and died 6 days later.
