Sharon Mundia Leteipan took a few months away from the public, taking time away from the spotlight. With her much-awaited return, the famed blogger shared what she’s been up to addressing her media silence and new chapters of her life. In an exclusive interview with Capital Campus, the 28-year-old beauty shared her recent life milestones and her greatest accomplishments yet, including being a mother to baby Aria.
CC: Where have you been?
SM: I’ve been taking care of my baby girl, Aria Nailantei Leteipan! I was away on maternity leave and I’m officially back.
CC: How is motherhood treating you?
SM: Motherhood is kicking me in the butt! I kid, I kid. Honestly, though, it’s been tough but my little lady makes everything so worthwhile. We sort of have our night routine down and although she doesn’t sleep for a solid 10 hours at night (yet), the night shifts are definitely getting easier. You just have to take it one day at a time!
CC: How long do you feel maternity leave should be?
SM:Six months sounds about right! At least. By that time your baby should have started on solids and its easier to wean them off breast feeding. I’d be heart broken if my baby rejected breast milk just because she’d gotten so used to the bottle – and all because I had to go back to work.
CC: Did your husband take paternity leave?
SM: Yup, he took two weeks.
CC: What is your favorite social media platform?
SM: I’m not sure anymore. It used to be Instagram but I’m not as obsessed with it anymore.
CC: What caused you to take a break from social media?
SM: It just all got overwhelming and my heart wasn’t in it anymore. I just felt consumed by everything and that I’d started to lose bits of myself too.
CC: Did you feel out of the loop being away from social media?
SM: Not at all! It’s not like I completely cut social media out of my life… I just didn’t feel the pressure to keep posting and that break was much needed.
CC: We know you love music, what are listening to now?
SM: I’m all over the place to be honest. I’ve really been enjoying Ed Sheeran’s new music though! And although I’m not a hip hop fan, I really appreciate Kendrick Lamar and Jay Z’s latest albums. They’re just so thoughtful. But most times, I’ll have Andra Day or Melody Gardot’s music in the background as I work.
CC: You look great. How did you get your body snatched so quick?
SM: Haha! Thank you. 🙂 It’s mostly thanks to breast feeding (which burns loads of calories) and trying my best to pick healthier options when I eat. If I’m being honest, my diet was horrible before getting pregnant but everything changed as soon as I knew I was going to be a mama.
CC: What excites you most about being back?
SM: Everything. Everything just feels so fresh and exciting. It’s like being away from your lover for months and getting to explore everything about him with a fresh set of eyes once again. I’ll be relaunching my YouTube channel in a few weeks and I can’t wait to share what I have planned!
