#TheSeven Things you should know about Keri Hilson

American singer and actress Keri Lynn Hilson is in Kenya for the Terminal Music Weekend.


Apart from her most anticipated performance at the Grown & Sexy concert on Friday 3.08.2018, Keri is doing her rounds for the Keri Hilson Foundation. The Foundation’s vision is to passionately focus on the well-being of women and children worldwide as well as enriching the lives of those we reach using the arts, education, health, and fitness.

Here are some facts that you didn’t know about the sultry 35-year-old singer:
1. Before she was came famous worldwide, Keri was a member of the song writing and production team, The Clutch and they wrote hits such as Mary J. Blige’s “Take Me as I Am” (2006), Omarion’s “Ice Box” (2006), Ciara’s “Like a Boy” (2006), The Pussycat Dolls’ “Wait a Minute” (2006) and Britney Spears’ “Gimme More” (2007).

2. Hilson’s debut studio album, “In a Perfect World” was released in 2009, and debuted at number 4 on the U.S Billboard 200 chart, eventually being certified gold. The album spawned the hit singles, “Knock You Down”, “Turning Me On” and “I Like”. It also earned

3. Keri Hilson is also a two-time Grammy Award nominee for Best New Artist and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “Knock You Down”.

4. In 2012, Hilson made her acting debut in the romantic comedy film, Think Like a Man. She has gone on to feature in popular movies such as Almost Christmas (2016) Love by the 10th date which debuted in 2017.

5. Miss Keri baby has not released an album since 2010’s No Boys Allowed because she has been battling depression. Her next album, tentatively titled L.I.A.R. (Love Is a Religion), is expected to drop later in 2018.

6. She has a phobia for dirty socks and pays special attention when it comes to her socks. “I buy new socks bi-weekly because of I‚m secretly afraid of being seen with dirty socks at the airport,” said Keri in a past interview.

7. This is Keri’s first trip to Kenya and her 15th trip to Africa having visited a number of African countries over the years such as South Africa and Nigeria.
