The Seven: Quick facts about the INEOS 1:59 challenge you should know

The INEOS 1:59 Challenge is only hours away. Here are a few facts you should know about the momentous event that will see marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge make history.

1. It is funded by British Billionaire Jim Ratcliffe.

2. Kipchoge will not be competing against anyone, but racing against time- Quite literally.

3. Kipchoge will seek to become the first athlete to run the Marathon(42 Kilometres) below 2 hours, which means, he has to run at least 7 meters in a second!

4. Kipchoge’s best attempt to do so was during the Monza Nike Breaking2 held in Italy on May 6, 2017, when he clocked 2.00.25. That’s just 26 seconds above two hours!!

5. Billionaires all over the world have placed bets worth Billions of Euros, Dollars, Pounds and every other currency- to hand Eliud if he runs the Marathon in less than two hours. Even 1 hour, 59 minutes and 59 seconds (1.59.59).

6. Eliud Kipchoge will run on Saturday in Vienna Austria. The starting time will be anytime between 6 am and 10 am.

7. Kipchoge’s slogan for the race is “No Human is Limited”.
