The Seven: Male celebrities who’s real names you won’t believe

Some celebrities have some unbelievable government names.

Part of the appeal of being a celebrity is having the ability to change your identity with a new name and persona. As a public personality, many of East Africa’s celebrities have managed to keep thier government names largely unknown to the public. Here are some of the most unexpected government names of your favorite celebrities.

1. Blessed Njugush :

Once known as a character from Real Househelps of Kawangware, and now a solo comedic act, Blessed Njugush is keeping Kenyans happy. However, one would expect this established comedian has quite the funny name; however his name is surprising simple. Blessed Njugush is Timothy Kimani Ndegwa, which begs the question where did he get the name Njugush?

2. Khaligraph Jones:

The Real OG Khaligraph Jones has the persona of a hustler. Always securing the bag, this rapper keeps it straight in the booth and has no time scandal and senseless talk. The straight shooter’s nameKhaligraph Jones aka Papa Jones was born Brian Robert Ouko. A shockingly basic name, his choice Khaligraph Jones commands respect and is an authoritative moniker for the award winning lyricist.

3. Nyashinski:

Former member of Kleptomaniax, Nyashinski has been in the music industry since he was a teen. Forming the group Kleptomaniax in high school, he quickly created a memborable name for himself Nyashinski. With a distinct government names, it is not dificult to understand why Nyamari Ongegu was eager to change names. Do you think his names would have taken away from his hip hop persona?

Currently the center of scandal, this Gospel singer Willy Paul is known for switching up his style and his names. Going by Willy Paul, Willy Pooze and Pooze, he keeps evolving getting further away from his government names Wilson Shikwekwe Abubakar Radido.

5. King Kaka:

Eastlando Royalty King Kaka has created an empire. However  Kennedy Ombima wasnt always a king, he once sold rabbits to make ends meet inspiring his name “Rabbit” as an upcoming rapper. Through the years, he has worked to establish himself as a musician and businessman withing Kenya’s music industry, earning the title ‘king’.

6. Mejja:

Kansoul member Mejja is known for fusion of comedy and rapper. A popular character, his talents preceed him winning his accolades since he was a teen. Mejja’s name is not as creative as many think, since it is a derevitive of his government names Major Nemeye Khadija.

7. Jua Cali:

Calif Records heavyweight Jua Cali has had an interesting career so far. The soft spoken artist was born Paul Nunda. Now an authoritative figure in the Kenyan music industry Nunda continues to reinvest himself years after he first started out as a newbie at Calif Records.
