Saturday 2 April 2022, Nairobi, Kenya. The Hub Karen, Nairobi’s premier shopping mall set in the heart of the Karen district, has announced that it is opening a new outdoor aerial adventure destination. ‘JUMP @ The Hub’ caters to thrill-seekers of all ages – including families – ahead of the busy Easter holidays.
The “Adrenaline Hub” includes high speed racing ziplines, freefall jumping into a giant airbag, and a giant swing that flings three people a time through a 10m arc. Adults with a sense of adventure (while being over 1.4m tall and under 120kg) can enjoy these activities and more.
For younger children, there is a 40m kids zipline to enjoy. Parents will be able to watch their children take part in the activities, join in themselves, or explore other new additions to The Hub Karen. These include a new food hall serving Japanese and Chinese food among other cuisines, along with a dessert station.
The mall is hosting a grand launch this Saturday, where journalists, special guests, and 50 members of the public will try out the activities for themselves. It comes ahead of the wider public opening on Sunday 3 April.
The JUMP brand of aerial adventure activities is provided by Flying Fox, an experienced adventure provider operating to international safety standards. The installation has been fully inspected and certified to EN15567 and ISO4309 standards. Flying Fox also operates the very successful six-zipline tour in Kereita Forest, Kimende. JUMP’s instructors will be on site at all times to provide safety training and supervision to both adults and children taking part.
The opening of this new space is the first in a series at The Hub Karen for further entertainment projects, reinforcing the mall’s position as a full week destination for shopping, as well as entertainment activities. The multi-purpose space will also be available for private booking and corporate events following the Easter holidays.

- KES 1,000
Activity Description
Practice on a small training wire before launching on the first 140m racing zipline (two zips side-by-side) from The Hub’s Lakeside Food Court, flying over both lakes and landing at the base of the “Jump Tower”, before returning on the second 180m racing zipline which launches from the top of the Jump Tower and lands you back at the Food Court and JUMP sales office.

Jump into thin air from 5, 7.5 and 10m metres into a custom-made airbag. The airbag is imported from Austria – Red Bull use the same brand to catch their snowboarders. You’ll be accompanied by an instructor who will give you a demonstration and plenty of encouragement. There’s no strict timeframe for this activity but allow approximately 30 minutes. You’ll need to demonstrate good jumping technique on the 1st and 2nd levels before heading up to jump from the top platform. Jump from our top platform at 14m and try to kick a punchbag (while safely attached to an auto belay)

The top of our Drop Tower is too high for the Airbag Jump, so we came up with the Leap of Faith. The TruBlu is a safety device that lowers you automatically to the ground. This activity is suitable for 4 years and above within the weight limit of 10-150kg.

This is an activity you’ll want to keep returning to, to improve your technique.
