The Don Octopizzo speaks hope and calls out lackluster leadership in ‘Another Day’

Octopizzo is keen to make change and the new release ‘Another Day’ could be the catalyst we all need.

The ‘Refugeenius’ rapper dropped a new release today (8.06.2020) titled ‘Another Day’ with a timely message of hope as these times of the novel Coronavirus have continued to lead the nation into economic downturn, adversely affecting the poor and marginalized.

In the release, he also did not shy away from hitting out at the political elite who have done little to no good for the thousands of Kenyans who have suffered under their poor leadership. He rapped, “Cheki checki cabinet, cheki nyama marinate, Cheki cabinet, wenye mali ya uma wanasuffocate…” The ‘Voices of Kibera’ rapper is among many who have pointed out the poor leadership provided by the elected, even speaking out against police brutality.

Aside from the poignant message on the release, the track sees Pizzo sing and rap, a new display of talent from the Namba 8 legend. Shot while on his food distribution drives, the visuals are touching as he travels across Nairobi’s inner cities including Kibera to share food with those who need it most. The track’s cinematography is by the gifted duo Kiki & Joel Ingo and audio engineered by Jon Rook. The track has garnered 10K views in less than 2 hours on YouTube, a sign that the message resonates with all who are willing to listen.

Octopizzo revealed ‘Another Day’ is the soundtrack for the Feed the Streets program documentary, that is yet to be released. He also pointed out that all proceeds from the release will go towards feeding those directly or indirectly affected by COVID-19, noting “if the world’s situation we are in at the moment isn’t inspiring you to make a difference, then you’ve lost your humanity.”

As earlier reported on The Sauce, the ‘Feed The Streets’ project spearheaded by Papichulo’s charity organization Octopizzo Foundation hopes to feed 10,000.

The feeding program in conjunction with foodbank.org is open to donations via PayPal, VISA and Mastercard. For more details click here .
