Taylor Swift is an icon, and she continues to make history. Not even a global pandemic can stop her rise.
According to a report on BBC, Swift’s eighth album has made history this year. The best-reviewed album of her career, it is widely expected to pick up multiple Grammy nominations next month. According to Billboard, Folklore sold 57,000 copies in the US last week, bringing its total to 1.038 million.
The 30-year-old singer’s ‘Folklore’ was released at short notice mid-July whilst the global was fighting a pandemic; but that did not stop the album from entering the record books.
Folklore’ sold over 1.3 million copies around the world within the first 24 hours of its release. The album also broke records on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. It also created a new record for first-day album streams on Spotify by a female artist, having prompted 80.6 million streams as earlier reported on The Sauce.
And even as she continues to make history, the cat-lover is using her platform for good encouraging millennials to go out and vote. The 10-time Grammy-winning artist added her take to the Presidential election declaring her support for the Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden.

According to a recent interview, Swift noted that she felt Biden and Kamala Harris had the formula for what America needs.
