Tanzanian songbird Nandy launches new album ‘African Princess’ with Willy Paul by her side

Tanzanian Songstress Nandy stunned last night (28.04.19) during the Kenyan launch of her 2018 album,‘African Princess’ which was held at Golden Ice Bistro in Nairobi.

Popularly referred to as the ‘African Princess,’ Nandy made a grand entrance on the red carpet at the star-studded event with Kenyan hitmaker Willy Paul well past midnight. When asked about her relationship with the ‘Jigi jigi’ singer Nandy told the press that he was her best friend and that he challenges her to better in that they don’t keep anything from each other especially about their music.

The event saw Nandy start off the night by dancing away with Willy Paul to their latest hit ‘Hallelujah’. She showed off her beautiful vocals as she put on an amazing performance complete with three outfit changes. She sang her popular hit songs, ‘Ninogeshe’,’One Day’ and ‘Aibu’ just to name a few. Some of the Kenyan musicians and celebrities who also turned up for the event to support Nandy include, Prezzo, Naiboi, Dj Shiti, Gabu, Hassan Mugambi, Masauti, Dufla, Gin Ideal, Viola Karuri, Rashid Abdalla and others.

Nandy also told the press that the reason why she decided to launch her album in Kenya is that she describes Kenya as her second home and she has been receiving support from many Kenyans which she greatly appreciates. The controversial Willy Paul who has also collaborated with Nandy on The song ‘Njiwa’, cheered her on saying that her move serves as an inspiration to other ladies who are in the music industry or would like to pursue it as a career. Nandy ended the night with an album signing as her fellow celebs supported her by buying her albums for thousands of dollars. These included Prezzo, Naiboi, Tanzanian star Dogo Janja and a rumored son of a senior politician in Kenya.

Nandy has quickly risen to be one of the most notable female singers in East Africa. Coming from humble beginnings, her talent was discovered at a talent show, and it’s been upwards and onwards for the young singer. Last year the soft-spoken songstress made her debut on the 6th edition of Coke Studio Africa 2019.
