2020 has been an interesting year, With the COVID-19 pandemic, everything has been at a standstill, people have lost jobs, businesses, and even themselves in the process but what everyone is doing is staying hopeful and planning for the new year.
Here are some ways you can start setting goals for the new year:
- Be Realistic
Set goals for the upcoming year and create resolutions you can actually accomplish. Rethink about certain things you need to achieve, and work on it. Keep your big goals small or small in number, don’t overdo it.
2.Outline steps to realize the goal.
This is where most people fail. What is it that needs to happen to make the goal come true? Write those steps out and attach deadlines/dates to them if at all possible. Reflect on that and work on it.
3.Use a Planner or a Journal
A planner helps us keep things in order especially for busy people, you have your schedules and your goals for the day, getting a planner or a journal enables you to plan for the day, or the week, and the best part is you can always alter it or remove something if it’s not important.
It grounds us and keeps us in check, also acts as a reminder on what it is we need to do.
4.Review the Previous Year
Sit down and think about the previous year, think about your accomplishments and work on your failures. Do Better! Simply look at the previous year and figure out what worked and what didn’t.
5.Reflect Often
The plan is in motion, the goals are being worked on but don’t just forget about it, always come back and reflect on your goals, adjust and re-plan if needed.
Go after those goals and make it happen!
