Sauti Sol is back.
Sauti Sol has partnered up with the original “Cash Madam” Vanessa Mdee for a new release dubbed “Kamasutra.” With the gentle strumming of an acoustic guitar, Chimano takes the lead in the first verse, fusing his harmonies with that of the Tanzanian beaut Mdee. As the electric guitar is incorporated into the track, the Kenyan foursome delivers some clever Swahili lyrics overflowing with sexual innuendos reminiscent of Bongo music. Vanessa Mdee’s vocals are well-delivered, adding to the overall upbeat, sensual nature of the track.
“Kamasutra” is among the last few tracks released in the Sauti Sol much-awaited album ‘Afrikan Sauce’ which has been well-received so far. The album is available for streaming according to a recent post from one of Kenya’s most successful groups.

Termed as a “collaboration project” between Sauti Sol and various African acts, the album features some club bangers including “Melanin,” “Afrikan Star” featuring Burna Boy, “Girl Next Door” featuring Tiwa Savage, and a more recent release “Love on the Dance Floor” featuring Toofan.
The musical project has seen Sauti Sol earn millions of views on YouTube, and expand their sound, drawing inspiration from different sources across the continent. With the LP offering diverse sound, the four Sol members have something for everyone serving up benga, Naija and afro-pop all in one compilation.
“Afrikan Sauce” is a herculean effort on the part of Sauti Sol, and is a must-have for any self-respecting Kenyan musical enthusiast.
