Black Eyed Peas is back. This time they have combined their experimental sound with the seductive vocals of Latina singer Anitta.
Former church girl Larissa de Macedo Machado, known professionally as Anitta has joined forces with the multi-award-winning Black Eyed Peas. The 4-minute track ‘Explosion’ is colourful and full of rhythm. For the lovers of the iconic group which released its first album in 1998; it a celebration of 20 years of music. Though ‘Explosion’ is not part of their most recent album ‘Masters of the Sun Vol. 1’, it is definitely everything Black Eyed Peas is known for.
The track’s beats are a mix of reggae, dancehall, electro-pop, and Latina music. But distinctly the bass beat is reminiscent of Charly Black and J Capri’s ‘Whine and Kotch‘, making for a happy surprise for those who love to dance. Anitta adds some great depth to the track with her Latina flair while the B.E.P do their thing.
The trio of Will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo seem to be doing well for themselves, churning out great music, with an experimental sound. Their distinct musical stylings come through in this track, but Taboo outdid himself with his stanza. It also has to be said that special mention goes to the voluptuous dancers who brought life to the vivid video.
The Black Eyed Peas threesome went on tour last year after releasing their 7th album ‘Masters of the Sun Vol. 1’. As earlier reported on The Sauce, the ‘Let’s Get It Started’ hitmakers kicked off their tour at the Eventim Apollo in London on October 27 and finished on November 18, 2019, in Dusseldorf, Germany. However, they were not joined on stage by vocalist Fergie who decided not to get together again with her bandmates.
