South African singer Lira announces separation from hubby on Instagram

South African singer Lira has announced that she is separating from her husband and manager, Robin Kohl.

Robin and Lira who were married for over nine years have reportedly been separated since March this year.

The Voice SA coach said that she is living separately from her husband in a post on Instagram, that was uploaded late on Friday night and asked for privacy as they try and figure out their relationship.

To all my beloved fans,friends,family and business associates, It is with great sadness that I announce my seperation from my husband of many years,Mr Robin Kohl. Robin and I are currently living apart and are in the process of deciding the future of our marriage. We have had a long and fruitful marriage and business relationship and have formed a strong bond that will remain, whatever the outcome of our time apart. In the meantime,Robin and I sincerely request that our privacy be respected during this difficult time. We have had reporters calling so I’m addressing this here. The singer is currently in Europe and performed at Konzerthaus Berlin, which is a famous concert hall.

She is a multi-platinum selling and an 11-times South African Music Award-winning Afro-Soul vocalist, who refers to her music as “a fusion of soul, funk, elements of jazz and African. Lira, whose real name is Lerato Molapo, performed at the 16th edition the Koroga Festival in March 2017.

As reported by The Sauce, another South African celebrity also recently announced her separation from her husband on Instagram. Mafikizolo singer Nhlanhla Nciza has announced that her and music mogul husband Thembinkosi “TK” Nciza have split after almost 15 years of marriage.
