Embattled Silverstone Airlines has come out to rubbish claims that one of their aircraft was involved in a near-fatal incident.
In a statement released on their social media handles on Tuesday morning (05.11.19), Silverstone Air refuted the news that one of the airplanes in their fleet had been involved in yet another accident terming the news being widely shared on social media fake.
“We confirm that none of our aircraft has had such an incident as per the fake news circulating on social media, ” the message read in part.
“Safety is our top priority and will not be compromised, our services proceed normally as scheduled,” the Airline added.

The news being circulated alleged that a Silverstone Air aircraft Dash 8 5Y-IZK had been forced to make an emergency landing at Wilson because one of the tyres had caught fire. The news has Silverstone has made the airline a top trending topic on Twitter.
The rumours come after a series of incidents involving Silverstone Air planes. As reported by The Sauce, about a week ago, the airline came under heavy scrutiny after one of their planes from Lodwar with five passengers on board was forced to make an emergency landing at Eldoret’s Moi International Airport after one of the tyres fell off.
Previously, a plane belonging to the company crashed at Wilson Airport on October 11th 2019 shortly after take-off for Lamu. Also, a Silverstone Air plane reportedly damaged other aeroplanes on the tarmac at Wilson Airport recently and proceeded to take off without following any protocol.
