Showmax Original Crime and Justice to set new standards in the local industry

Crime and Justice is the first Showmax Original set to air locally this February.

Featuring the cream of the crop, the show stars talented actress and producer Sarah Hassan who plays ‘Makena’, seasoned actor Alfred Munya who plays ‘Silas’ as well as Capital FM’s former presenter and award-winning actor Maqbul Mohammed who plays Head of Department.

Also featured in guest roles in the show are Paul Ogola (from ‘Sense 8’, ‘Kati Kati’) and Brian Ogola (Lusala, Disconnect), with stage and screen legend John Sibi-Okumu (The Constant Gardener, The First Grader), Muhugu Theuri (Pillow Talk, Pieces of Us), Brian Abajah (Sincerely Daisy), Martin Githinji (Sue na Jonnie, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind) and Justin Mirichii (Rafiki, Watu Wote).

The show is an insider look at the complex policing system, highlights the lives of those who work at a busy police station in the Green City in the Sun in their quest for justice. A revelation on the sometimes grey line between right and wrong; the cast take us on a journey of the motives behind some deadly crimes this show honest and highly entertaining. Well produced, coupled with engaging dialogue and some intriguing acting; the show promises to take the audience on an unforgettable performance.

The ‘Crime and Justice’ show is the second co-production with global broadcaster CANAL+ and with heavy investment from the Showmax streaming service, the production is slated to raise the bar in all facets of the film industry. The show showcases local talent, on and off-screen as well as brings attention to Kenyan stories; told by Kenyans for the consumption of all.
