‘Betty’ is Charisma’s take on African timing twisted into a love song with a creative mix of societal pressures. According to the lyrics, he keeps yearning for this love he has found in his African queen Betty but he stays yearning because, African timing.
The track could be the anthem for all those who are known for their African timing.
Rayvanny – Corona
Renowned Tanzanian musician Rayvanny has released the video to his ‘Corona’ hit featuring President John Pombe Magufuli. In the video, Rayvanny popularly known as Vanny Boy demonstrates basic precautionary measures of keeping the infection at bay.
President Magufuli is also featured in the video released under the Wasafi brand. Magufuli’s feature come from an excerpt from a past speech on Coronavirus. The song was released after Tanzania confirmed its first case of Coronavirus early this week. Rayvanny joins a list of musicians who are supporting different governments in sensitizing the public on the dangers of the deadly virus.

Zzero Sufuri – Love Me
Fast-rising Kenyan rapper Zzero Sufuri has released a new song dubbed ‘Love Me’ a collaboration with the songbird Mogi. Produced by Kovx Wise, the new release is about unconditional love and the joy that comes with being in love according to a report on Mdundo.
This track is a different sound from his most recent gengetone release ‘Magode Choke‘ which dropped on February 25th.
Zzero Sufuri goes on to chronicle his life in the release , delivering his life’s truths in a simple well-delivered lyrical flow. Zzero dedicates this track to all those who are down. Be encouraged, it gets better.
Eddy Kenzo – Tweyagale
Ugandan megastar Eddy Kenzo has released the track ‘Tweyagale’. The track is a feel good serenade, and features Kenzo’s beautiful vocals backed by the sounds of the saxophone. Released in early February, the track is now occupying the top spot on iTunes Uganda.
But it seems that coronavirus has put a damper on Kenzo’s plans to spread love through his music. According to a post on Mdundo, Edirisa Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo is the latest artist to postpone a music concert over the rapid spread of the deadly coronavirus. Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Wednesday 17th March declared that all concerts and public gatherings are to be put on hold for a month during the State of nation address.
Mimi Mars – Haina Maana
Mars; sister to renowned musician Vanessa Mdee has been keen to keep her own star shinning and this track is just about it. ‘Haina Maana’ is a heart-break track where she reminisces about the love she once had.
For people that have been in love before, this song is just a reflection of a dreadful, painful end to a once loving relationship. The pain and torture of thinking you are in love, then it all disappears just once shows how hopeless love can be once in a while. According to Mdundo, the Kibamba production just dropped on YouTube, garnering 10K views so far.
