Selena Gomez throws major shade to ex bae Justin Beiber in a new emotional song ‘Lose You To Love Me’

Singer Selena Gomez has seemingly thrown a little shade the way of one of her exes in her latest song, with fans believing it to be Justin Bieber.

Selena and Justin famously dated on and off from 2009 to 2017 before the singer went on to date The Weeknd. They reunited briefly before calling it quits in March 2018. By July of the same year, Justin was engaged to Hailey Baldwin, with the pair tying the knot in September and for a second time last month as reported by The Sauce.

In Selena’s latest tune, an emotional ballad ‘Lose You To Love Me’, she sings about being ‘replaced’ in two months ‘like it was easy’ while also shading this ex for ‘singing off-key’ in her chorus. There is no mention of names, of course, but fans online are putting their armchair detective caps on and believe it to be the ‘Sorry’ hitmaker.

Selena and Justin famously dated for years. In one emotional verse, Selena, 27, sings: ‘I gave my all and they all know it / You turned me down, and now it’s showing / In two months you replaced us / Like it was easy / Made me think I deserved it.’ If you needed a walk down memory lane, it may be referring to the apparently quick turnaround of his split from Selena and reunion with Hailey who he’d dated in the past during one of his breaks from Selena.

In another verse, she sings: ‘Sang off-key in my chorus / ‘Cause it wasn’t yours / You promised the world / Made her more of a woman /I needed to lose you to find me.’

Justin was a featured artist on her songs ‘Can’t Steal Our Love’ back in 2013 as well as ‘Unfamiliar’ the following year. Fans thought they’d put two and two together as they took to social media and suggested it was all about Bieber.

As to the real subject of the song, maybe we’ll never know. While we have no idea really who she’s singing about, and it could all be a very convenient metaphor for no specific love.

As reported by The Sauce, Selena who is one of the most followed female celebrities on Instagram has been through a lot since her break up with Beiber, she suffered an emotional breakdown, went to rehab, she has had a battle with lupus since 2015, quit social media and has been away from the music scene for a while.

The new tune which was released today (23.10.19) was shot on iPhone and has since garnered over a million views on YouTube.
