According to reports by various entertainment blogs, Police Spokesperson in charge of Kigali city, CIP Umutesi Marie Goreth confirmed the news and said, the singer was arrested for drunk driving in the wee hours of Monday morning (21.10.19) and is being detained at Remera police station.

“It’s true he was arrested but I don’t have any clue on why he was arrested because I wasn’t with him, but right now I am going there to inquire then I will give you full details,” his manager Bruce allegedly said.

Drunken driving is an offence punishable with a fine of Rwf150, 000 (Kshs 16, 786), 5 days imprisonment, confiscation of driver’s license and impounding the vehicle.

A source close to the singer told The Sauce that the singer will be detained till Friday (25.10.19).

In March 2019, the RnB singer was ordered to appear in person at the Commercial Court in Kigali over a $10,000 debt. A music promotions company KAGI Rwanda Ltd filed a case with the court accusing the the ‘Slowly’ singer of betrayal for failing to appear at a planned concert in Belgium back in 2018 for which he had been paid in advance, Rwanda Chronicles reported.
