Embattled RnB singer R. Kelly has reportedly rubbished explosive claims he slept with Aaliyah’s mum while his then teen wife Aaliyah was asleep in bed.
The disgraced star is said to have hit back at claims of sexual encounters with the late singer’s mother Diane Haughton made by ex-lover and alleged sexual assault victim Lisa Van Allen.
According to a report by the Mirror, Van Allen who appeared in the damning ‘Surviving R.Kelly’ docu-series told a TV outlet about the alleged sexual affair while also recounting that after Aaliyah got an abortion they annulled the marriage.
She said: “He told me that they were married, that she was pregnant, that he did doctor up the marriage certificate so she could say she was 18, so they could get married.
“And the reason was if he thought that she was 18 then he couldn’t get charged if someone found out she was pregnant.”This came out of his mouth, I could take a lie detector test to this, this is what he told me. Specifically told me. It’s not a rumor, its the truth, ” she continued.
Speaking about the sofa sex claims, she said: “He said that when Aaliyah would go to sleep he would go into the living room and they would do sexual acts on the couch while Aayliah was asleep in the bedroom.”
But despite Van Allen’s claims, sources close to R. Kelly told TMZ that he and Diana had nothing more than a friendly relationship. In fact, the source is said to have claimed that Kelly believes Van Allen made the claims in a bid to grab headlines for herself.
Former personal assistant Demetrius Smith previously admitted to helping Kelly forge the documents he needed to marry Aaliyah. “I’m not proud of that,” he said.
As reported by The Sauce the ‘Ignition’ hitmaker recently had an explosive interview with Gayle King of CBS In the Morning, where he tearfully denied the sexual assault allegations brought out in the infamous documentary.
