King Kaka is here with something special for the hip hop heads.
One of Kenya’s biggest rappers is not holding anything back in 2020, and though we almost a quarter-way through the year; King Kaka is ready to prove he is music royalty.
Kaka is dressed in an ankara suit teasing his latest release ‘The Servant and the King’. Though it is only 29 seconds long, Kaka Sungura as he is known, hints at the difference between perception and reality, and goes on to reveal that his mission is to “turn words into numbers”.
King Kaka is known for his no nonsense take on music, establishing himself as an industry titan, and mentor. His track ‘Wajinga Nyinyi’ released (14.12.19) addressed the current political, social and economic state of our country Kenya. As earlier reported on The Sauce, the 6-minute track dissects the sad truths of what it means to be Kenyan from unemployment to corruption scandals. He calls Kenyan voters stupid for turning a blind eye to all these atrocities and letting them happen over and over again despite having the power to choose better leaders.
Having landed in hot water previously for his callous words, fire-spitting King Kaka is now making a name for himself as the truth-speaker; a lyricist curving his own path in the times of trend chasing mumble rappers, and anonymity-seeking Sound Cloud artists.
The project ‘The Servant and the King’ release dates are yet to be confirmed, but it is clear fans cannot wait.
