‘Remorseful’ Babu Owino vows to pay Dj Evolve’s medical bills

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino will take responsibility for Dj Evolve’s medical bills.

In January 2020 as reported by The Sauce the Mr. Owino whose real name is Paul Ongili shot B Club mixmaster Felix Orinda alias DJ Evolve. He was arrested and spent a week in jail after which he was released on a Kshs 10 million cash bail which would be used to cater for the ailing Dj Evolve’s medical bills.

DJ Evolve has been hospitalized at Nairobi Hospital since the incident and has undergone surgeries to restore his health after suffering a bullet injury on the neck and back.

Earlier this week, Kenyans were shocked to learn that the High Court had reduced Owino’s cash bail to only Kshs 5 million, a move that left the future of the deejay uncertain as there was no clear means of him getting the medical attention that he deserves, The Sauce reported.

However, in a recent interview with Capital FM the first-time lawmaker, who appeared remorseful during the interview refused to talk about the shooting incident but said he has committed to footing all the medical bills and revealed that the disc jockey was fairing on well.

“His bills will be paid by myself,” he said.

“It is a matter between me and God and I chose to forgive myself. We cannot change the past but we can change the future. Let us focus on what is coming in the foreseeable future. Let us not dwell so much on our past because we cannot change no matter how much we would wish it does change,” he added.

A couple of o weeks ago Kenyans on Twitter blasted the MP for not paying Evolve’s bills promptly when it reportedly emerged that he had only paid Kshs 600,000 out of the total bill of Kshs 7.5 million at the time. He later revealed through his lawyer that he had, in fact, paid a total of Kshs 5 million.
