The Surviving R. Kelly doc-series was realeased in early January but it’s ripple effects are still causing shockwaves across the world and Kelly’s family will not stay silent.
Robert Kelly known for a slew of great hits including “Same Girl” and “I Believe I Can Fly” has been the center of controversy after the release of the Lifetime production “Surving R.Kelly.” Now weeks after the docu-series aired, R. Kelly’s ex-wife and former back-up dancer Andrea Lee has come out to speak on the shocking production that exposed her ex-husband’s wild sexual tendancies.
Nonetheless, Andrea who has 3 children with the Chicago native noted that she speaks as a survivor and advocate after her tragic relationship with Kelly. During an interview with Piers Morgan on iTv’s Good Morning Britain Kelly’s ex-wife had lots to day about the troubled Grammy winner. Andrea Lee stated, “I do believe that he is abusive. I cannot confirm or deny these women’s stories because again I have not lived their stories. All I can say is what rings true in my life.”
Kelly’s 21-year-old daughter Joann also had lots to say in the interview about the scandal surrounding her father. She said, “… I know him, he is my father. I grew up in that house to a certain extent so I spent years in that house. So its very painful to see that all of these people have been affected by someone I care about and have a strenoius relationship with.” Talking about her strained relationship with her father’s Joanna said, “if my father is a toxic person, then unfortunately have to love him from a distance. There is no love lost, but I just had to separate myself.”
The “Bump n Grind” artist has seen many artists including Chance the Rapper, John Legend and many more come out against him for his sexual diviancies.
