The head of Liberty University in the US urged student to carry concealed weapons on campus. Jerry Falwell Jr. told students they needed to counter armed attacks like in San Bernardino, California where 14 people were shot and killed by two assailants.
The Times reports Falwell’s speech at a convocation on Friday was met by a rousing applause by students.
“I’ve always thought if more good people had concealed carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walked in,” Falwell said.
But the President’s remarks targeting Muslims forced him to issue a clarification later saying he was referring to Muslims that carried attacks in Paris and California.
“There are many good Muslim, many good moderate Muslims.”
Falwell revealed he got a license to carry a gun after the recent mass attacks and encourage students to take a free class offered by campus police to obtain a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
