Periods are uncomfortable. From the ovulation process and just two weeks, before menses start, the body feels all wrong. We are talking acne breakouts, headaches, lower body pains, blotting nausea and general fatigue sorts of wrong.
Energy levels tend to be consequently stumpy. It almost feels like you are going down with something. A horrendous time that you must work through regardless of how bad you just want to coil up in bed and snack away on some yummy crisps or Oreos.
However, with new technology, we are empowered. They assist in tracking our cycles and thus you can tell that the emotional lash out at the watchman or weird diarrhea and farts are not by chance it is time! Hence preparation is made possible thus aiding in minimizing some or all of these effects. Thus making the period a little more bearable.
So we are going to the basics, periods 101. Here’s what you need to get:
1. Pain meds
With an app tracker, you already know when the monsoon hits and thus can nip the problem there and then. This means you are not caught off guard as you already have pain killers in your bag, purse or at your desk at work.
2. Pads
Have your tampons, pads, wipes and toilet paper with you from the get-go. Purpose to purchase a small carry on that will fit these essentials together neatly.
This benefits in keeping your handbag organized and clean. Saving you from the embarrassment of opening your bag only to find pad wrappings and folded toilet paper, which is not cute.
3. Diet
The cycle more times than none comes with blotting. A horrible sickening feeling that makes you lethargic and restless. Hence a proper diet is imperative throughout this time of the month. To have an easier time, purpose to eat more veggies, fruits and keep hydrated regardless of the cravings. Trust, the sugar and starch only make matters worse.
4. Wear comfortable clothes
Grab those mothers’ union panties and get yourself a comfortable pair of trousers, skirt or dress. Those that fit just right around the waist area and are dark-colored for extra comfort and peace of mind. Be in something that will allow you to sit and move around comfortably and with confidence.
5. Music and podcasts
Find a relaxing playlist suited for just that time. Something that calms you down or rather is in tune with your mood then. Especially at work, keep your nerves in check with good music and a relaxing cup of tea. Be extra and light a candle and just go with the flow.
6. Rest
Sleep a little earlier than usual in order to have an easier day at work or school. Take long showers or baths, do some quiet time. Lay on your back and soothe the aching areas with a hot water bottle. Love on yourself a little and just rest, whichever way you know how.
