Nigerian singer Davido is cashing in on his hit songs ahead of his 28th birthday.
The award-winning hitmaker took to Twitter recently to (jokingly) ask his fans to send him money for the hit songs he has given them.
“If u know I’ve given you a hit song … send me money,” tweeted Davido. He then created a new bank account and sent the number to his fans.
His fans did not disappoint. In less than 10 minutes, money started hitting his account, and he kept on updating his bank account status on Twitter.
The celebrated artist surpassed his initial goal, he had earlier said he needed 100 million naira (Sh27million) to clear the bill for his Rolls Royce currently at the port.
The father of three who will turn 28 on November 21, then proceeded to his Instagram stories to ask his fellow celebs to each send him a million naira. In a video posted on Instagram, Davido called on those he had helped in the music industry to each send him money.
Davido whose real name is David Adedeji Adeleke said, “We rise by lifting others abi? Me I don dey rise dey lifting others for the past 100 years. So I want to know who my friends are. All of my friends one one million Naira. They said we are 30BG. If you don’t send your own. You out of here. You are gone (sic).”
The ‘Fall’ crooner has received money from other celebrities, including Adekunle Gold, Rema, Mr Eazi, Zlatan, P Square brothers, Teni the entertainer, Don Jazzy, Fireboy DML and Chike just to mention a few.
He has been updating his Instagram stories regularly with screenshots of transactions and individually thanking everyone who sent him money.
