Octopizzo asks S.A rapper Cassper Nyovest to apologize to Kenyan fans

Celebrating 10 years as a rapper, Octopizzo performed on the TGR stage last night to a sizeable crowd at the Ngong Racecourse.

Energy levels were kept up by DJ Protege and DJ Dii who psyched up the crowd ahead of the big act performances which began at 12 am.  Though the event started 6 hours late, the show picked up in momentum in anticipation of the main act Cassper Nyovest.  It is unsure whether delays were due to the main act Cassper Nyovest lateness or disorganization on the part of the organizing team. The 4-hour show hosted by Chipukizee and Shaffie Weru featured Steph Kapela, Fena Gitu, Khaligraph Jones, Octpizzo and main act Cassper Nyovest.

The one and only Fena Gitu also graced the stage dressed in denim. Accompanied by dancers, she gave an energetic performance, and debuted her latest track “Miss Me With That.”

Baba Yao Khaligraph Jones’ act featured an unforgettable introduction from Eldoret upcoming female MC Msupa S. Khaligraph Jones delivered a world-class performance featuring some of his greatest tracks including “Omollo”, “Toa Tint” and even brought out Sauti Sol for their collaboration “Rewind.” Dressed like a commander, Octopizzo had his fans in formation as they sang every word to his biggest tracks.

Octopizzo made it to the stage in an all-white ensemble and neck pieces that glimmered in the bright lights. The “Level Up” star kicked off his performance, with remarks on the headlining act’s lateness.

Speaking to the crowd, Octopizzo insisted that South African mega-star Cassper Nyovest should apologize to fans. The outspoken artist went on to note that it seemed like a trend that many international acts who perform in Kenya take for granted the Kenyan audience, arriving late and giving lackluster performances.

Despite Octopizzo’s candid comments on the matter, it seems the message did not hit home for the “Ksazobalit” star. Cassper did not apologize, but rather focused on delivering his performance. He was on stage for a little over an hour.
