Kenyan singer Nikita Kering’s musical and influencer success continues to soar.
Nikita announced that she has landed a new gig with Rihanna’s beauty brand, Fenty Beauty. She will lead the national campaign for the global cosmetic brand which will begin on Friday, May 27, 2022.
The ‘Ex’ hitmaker announced the news on her Twitter account on Wednesday (25.05.2022), expressing her gratitude for the coveted role.
“KENYA! It’s Happening! @fentybeauty & @fentyskin are gonna be here this Friday the 27th. I’m so glad to be heading this campaign in Kenya while Rocking my Fenty Favs,” she wrote.
As reported by The Sauce, singer and mogul Rihanna recently announced that Kenya will be among several African countries where Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin products will be distributed in.
In a statement seen by The Sauce ahead of the launch, Rihanna reiterated her love for the motherland and bringing her products to the continent saying, “I am a prod Bajan who also feels a strong connection to Africa, and its people. I’ve had the pleasure, and the privilege, to spend time on the continent and those experiences never leave yo. Now, being able to bring Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin to eight African countries and then hopefully more in the future-means so much to me.”
Forbes magazine declared the 33-year-old pop star a billionaire last year, estimating her net worth at $1.7 billion (approx. Ksh.197 billion) at the time, making her the wealthiest female musician and the second-richest woman in entertainment behind Oprah Winfrey.
Forbes then estimated that Fenty Beauty alone was worth $2.8 billion (approximately Ksh.324 billion).
The 20-year-old who is also a brand ambassador for Samsung shot to fame in her early teens and has steadily risen to become one of Kenya’s best musical exports.
