Nairobi’s club scene set to get a feel for carnival as The Boombox comes to +254

The Nightclub scene has exploded in Nairobi over the last decade.

Taken over by the newest generation of youth, they have elevated the standard of the phrase – ‘ night out on the town’. Clubs have sprung up left right and center to cater to the ever-burgeoning thirst for fun. The Carnivore Simba Saloon has been steady on the scene for decades now, although not on the forefront with the younger generation; that is until now. The Boombox is slated for the 6th of April 2019. Organized by DJ E’s company Mzuka Media Group in partnership with The Carnivore Simba Saloon, the event is set to host over 2,000 young’uns.

“I have been engaging a lot with this demographic during my travels around the country. It was just a matter of time before I tailor-made a theme night with their preferences in mind,” said DJ E. And when it comes to styling an event DJ E is quite the stylist. Coming off his recent successful run with his back to back event New Jack Swing, he believes he is just warming up. “We have a couple of tricks up our sleeves,” added DJ E. “Perhaps for now I can only divulge that we have two different party setups in the Simba Saloon competing to see who will be crowned ‘Kings of the Boombox’.”

The two setups he is speaking of are The Playground and The Traphouse. The playground will play host to a wicked EDM/house party with a carnival festival setup. This is for the crowd that really lets loose. Several party games are sure to keep the crowd hooked throughout the night. The Traphouse will, in turn, be the club spot where trap music and all of the latest hits will be played. All the highlights of an exclusive nightclub will be featured, from bottle service to club dancers.

“So far we are happy to announce that our entertainment lineup is complete,” Said Natasha Muloko, operations manager at Mzuka Media Group. “Each party will be entertained by the crème de la crème in Nairobi’s entertainment scene. The playground will feature performances by Noise on Demand, Shishi and DJ Rubba, while the traphouse will be held down by DJ Smollz, DJ Dream, Shaq Tha Young’in, Barrack Jacuzzi and DJ E” she added.

Just like the LP record player fascinated children born in the 80s and 90s as a musical artifact, the boom-box stereo does likewise to this current generation of millennials. They too are fascinated that youngsters from previous eras had to carry around such a big gadget to access entertainment they access so easily from their I-phones and I-Pads.
The boombox simply put is an event to channel out today’s good music to the generation that enjoys it the most.

This will most likely be the most explosive affair this quarter of the year. Tickets are available here.
