Mifugo Bora Agribusiness, a startup, won the People’s Choice Award during the 5th Nairobi Innovation Week that was fully sponsored by the Chancellor, Dr. Vijoo Rattansi with Kshs. 500,000 while Eco Makaa, a startup by a UoN Student won the UoN Chair of Council Award of Kshs. 100,000.
The 6 most promising startups that won the Nairobi Innovation Challenge after a rigorous 4 months got a chance to pitch before celebrity judges during the Nairobi Innovation Week and won various awards as follows;
In the Growth stage startups; Silmak Agencies took up position 1 and won a Cash Prize of KSh 700,000 from the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KENIA), Mentorship by Chandaria Capital, 100% Scholarship to the Sinapis’ Entrepreneur Academy’s 4-month programme , Purchase and hosting of domain name (.co.ke) for a period of one year from the Kenya Network Innovation Centre (KeNIC).
Position2, Kencoco won 75% Scholarship to the Sinapis’ Entrepreneur Academy’s 4 month programme, 1Million Startups East Africa Membership Slot, Slot to the next 1Million Startups East Africa cohort of investment readiness program ,Purchase and hosting of domain name (.co.ke) for a period of one year from the Kenya Network Innovation Centre (KeNIC).
Position 3, Bentos Energy, won 50% Scholarship to the Sinapis’ Entrepreneur Academy’s 4-month program, 1Million Startups East Africa Membership Slot, Purchase and hosting of domain name (.co.ke) for a period of one year from the Kenya Network Innovation Centre (KeNIC)
