The office is the place you and your employees spend most time in a day. In addition, the surroundings have a huge impact on peoples’ moods and ultimately their productivity and performance. It, therefore, makes sense to have a well-decorated and organized workspace.

If the office is limited in space, however, it can be challenging to think of a décor that can make a huge statement to the people working in and to those visiting. Nevertheless, that is not to say that it can’t be done. With clever thinking and creativity, you can achieve the office space of your dreams.

Here are a few ideas to get you started.

1.      Have a bathroom fit for all

An office receives all sorts of people, from children to adults, the elderly, and people living with disabilities. If you want to make a huge impact on everyone who needs to use a toilet in your office, it is important that you take into consideration the needs of different kinds of people. For instance, in your next powder room remodeling project, you can include features such as lower counters and sinks, non-slip flooring and grab bars.

 2.      Use colors cleverly

Colors have an impact on people’s minds. If you use the wrong colors in a small office, it can easily make people feel cramped. On the other hand, the right color choices can ignite creativity and boost moods. For instance, the blue and green colors are more relaxing. These make a great choice for a break room or reception area. Choose colors that are vibrant to raise the spirits of the people working there. If you don’t know where to start, you can settle on using your brand colors throughout the office.

 3.      Use wall hangings

Small spaces never go wrong with artwork hanging on the walls. Make it interesting by choosing wall hangings with vibrant colors. If you want to make it simple, you can hang black and white artwork. Choosing to hang team photos is a great way to make a statement of inclusion to your workers.

4.      Choose the right furniture

Furniture choice is very critical for a small office. You don’t want bulky furniture that will make the office feel smaller than it is, but you still want to remain modern and make a statement. Choose smaller models for your small office. You can then accentuate them by choosing funky ones such as ottomans or playing around with various prints and colors. However, you should always ensure that they are ergonomic and comfortable.

 5.      Knock off walls

The biggest goal for a small office is to save on floor space. A good way to achieve this is by using an open office design. This will not only bring out a modern working space, but it will go a long way in encouraging collaboration and communication among team members.

 6.      Allow enough light

Just like colors, light has a way of affecting the mind as well. People working in a poorly lit environment are highly likely to underperform. Make the most of natural light in the day by enlarging the windows and strategically placing mirrors to reflect the light. In addition, invest in artificial lighting products to ensure the office is well lit when working in the night.

 7.      Bring in some plants

Plants purify the air by removing toxins. Besides, being around greenery lifts up the spirits and boosts productivity. Having plants in the office is also a great way to stay in touch with Mother Nature. If you incorporate an open office setup, potted plants can be a great way to act as dividers. If you office missed the natural sunlight, you can buy LED grow light which will help them grow as if they were outdoors.

Clutter is a great undoing to any space, more so if it is a small space. Utilize vertical space by installing vertical storage cabinets. On the desks, you can use colorful holders for holding stationery such as pencils, staplers, and the like.

 Conclusion

Decorating small office spaces can be a daunting task. However, tackling such challenges forces you to think outside the box and flex your creativity. There is a lot that you can do with small spaces. The above tips are just a source of inspiration. Hopefully, they give you an idea of what you can achieve with small office spaces.
