The latest Webometrics University ranking shows Maseno Uni has made a marked improvement beating JKUAT, Strathmore and Egerton universities. The University of Nairobi maintained its position as the best university in Kenya followed by Kenyatta University. UoN has been ranked 12th best in Africa behind eight South African Universities, Makerere, Cairo University and the American University of Cairo.
The Ranking Web or Webometrics is the largest academic ranking of Higher Education Institutions. Every six months, an independent, objective, free, open scientific is performed by Spain’s Cybermetrics Lab. The methodology is largely based on number and quality of publications a university publishes on the web.
