The Marketing Society of Kenya has officially become the first professional body to form a youth-only membership affiliate. The MSK’s National Youth Council was launched at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, a week ago, at the new ultra-modern Learning Resource Centre Auditorium.
The Student’s National council is an arm of the Marketing Society of Kenya. It is a council that brings together all student marketers under one body. It comprises of at least one representative from Marketing/business club in major university in Kenya. The Students National Council will function as a congress of representatives from all campuses to network and exchange ideas on how to improve the MSA network. The objective of the council is to provide a vibrant and proactive student program that adds values to the student members. It draws its membership from 13 member campuses.
The speakers for the Day consisted of Machel Waikenda, Board Member of the World Youth Parliament, Stanley Kamau CEO of Ahadi Kenya, Gor Semelango Chair of the Youth Enterprise Fund, Timothy Gakuu, Director of Youth Affairs, Mary Kimonye CEO of Brand Kenya. Students were also treated to entertainment from renowned comedians’ Creative arts duo Muchungachi na Mutumishi who left the auditorium in tears after their performance.
The day culminated in a cake cutting ceremony on the stairs of the LRC Auditorium with the Main Speaker, Mrs Mary Kimonye and SNC Chairperson, Kenneth Kiunga Cutting the cake. This was followed by a networking lunch where guest speakers got to interact with the students.
