You are in for a treat at the Kenya National Theatre on 14th November as Dr. Zipporah Okoth’s film Midlife Crisis is set to premiere.
‘Midlife Crisis’ is a fictional feature film based on the lives of four women in their midlife and their daily pressures to conform to society and to pursue their dreams and fantasies.
When Gigi informs her three friends that she is at the clinic, they all decide to meet up at her place and divulge in deep secrets and moments. They share in laughter, conflicts, love, jealousy and friendship that make their lives truly a midlife crisis.
The film features Kenyan actress Ruth Maingi, popularly known for her role in the television drama series “Lies that Bind”. She plays a high flying spinster who is struggling for a baby yet she has fibroids and has to do what it takes to have a baby before her time flies.
Kauthar Kangethe plays ‘Rina’, a happily married businesswoman and mother of two kids while Suki Wanza, plays ‘Alice’, a learned housewife married to a billionaire husband who feels suffocated in cultural roles to serve her husband, family church, and society.
Dr. Zipporah Okoth, known for her theatrical performances, is both producer and director for this film.The crew also features Jackson Kang’ethe as Director of Photography and award-winning editor Rosalinda Taabu while Legacy Arts and Film Lab front the production.
The film features special appearances by Pascal Tokodi, Keith Chuaga and Lulu Wilson rounding off the well adjusted and talented cast.
