Jamaican Dancehall star Garfield Spence alias Konshens does not want any bad mind energy from Eric Omondi.
Following the much anticipated news that the ‘Bruk Off Yuh Back’ singer will be performing in the country on New year’s Eve, Konshens had some words for Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi.
Omondi has been vocal for the last couple of weeks about the current state of the Kenyan entertainment scene. One of his many issues is the fact that there are too many international headlining acts for concerts and that Kenyan acts are behind side lined.
Konshens who currently promoting his new album titled ‘Red Reign’ did not take Omondi’s comments laying down. He sought to find out what Omondi’s real problem was with international artists like him, saying that the only reason he is performing in the country is because he loves Kenya and Kenyans love him back.
He continued to say that he had had many offers to perform on New Year’s Eve closer to his home but he chose to perform in Kenya instead. The 36-year-old reiterated that he did not want to milk our country as his intention was to give dancehall loving Kenyans a good time.
Konshens who has performed in Kenya severally, proceeded to dub Omondi’s arguments as ‘Trump like’ tactics and called on him to present the real issues on the table.
Kenya is a hub for many international artists who are said to be making alot of mulla from their concerts in the country.
Since the removal of curfew restrictions, Kenya has hosted several artists including Grammy award nominated artist Etana and Nigerian superstar Adekunle Gold. Other artists expected in the country include, Jamaicans Konshens, Popcaan and Charly Black just to name a few.
